The league started in 1991 when the original members found themselves being cast to the four winds due to their education/careers and needed some pathetic reason to keep in contact. Thus via a convoluted discussion the PPL was formed. Over the years the league has expanded from its original four to twelve in its last version as a single league in 1999/2000. Due to a sudden increase in numbers the format was changed to the present three division set up with the ten newcomers forming the third division. Despite growing pains and near rebellion over the promotion and relegation issue this format will remain for the coming season. Check here regularly for updates on the changes to the format as these are likely to change more than the structure of the Scottish League. The current total of members is 28 (15/11/08).
