general interest

East Stirlingshire East Stirlingshire is the football team I supported when I was growing up. They were my local club (beating Falkirk by a matter of a couple of hundred yards) and I've supported them ever since, along with my brother and a few other friends. This year (2004-05) Littlewoods are sponsoring them which is providing a much needed boost to the club. Check it out if you're into supporting the underdogs.
shiretrust shiretrust was setup to ensure that anything done by the chairman of East Stirlingshire is done for the benefit of the club. The club has been around for a long time (longer than a lot of the bigger, well known clubs) and needs the support of all football fans that value the contribution to the national game of the smaller clubs.

Useful Software & websites

Get Firefox! Mozilla Firefox is the browser I use. It's got popup blocking and tabbed browsing. The flash blocker extension is invaluable too. Excellent stuff.
Use OpenOffice.org I've been using OpenOffice.org for a while now. It still has its quirks, but I think that's mainly because I'm still used to working with MS Office. I use MS Office very rarely at home now.
Get POPFile I've been using POPFile as an email classification (and anti-spam filter) for a while now. It's pretty impressive. A lot of people seem to get 98% accuracy and above. Worth checking out if you're plagued by spam.
ImageShack Imageshack allows you to host pictures for free. If you register (which I would recommend as it is free) then you can keep a track of all the images you've uploaded. It also provides thumbnails for your pictures. Very useful site.
